The mighty Rock Never Stops tour returns in summer 2005, bringing its untamed rock 'n' roll party to cities throughout North America. The eighth annual trek features headliner CINDERELLA and special guests RATT, QUIET RIOT and FIREHOUSE — all rock giants that exploded out of the 1980s and 1990s with combined worldwide record sales in the multi-millions.
With the finest lineup of melodic hard-rock bands found on the concert trail this year, Rock Never Stops 2005 will hit the road mid-June through early September, promising not only four bands thrilling the fans with an arena full of hit songs, but also promising many special surprises along the way as well!
Mark Hyman (creator of the Rock Never Stops concept and title) and Jay Frey of Paradise Artists are co-agents for the Rock Never Stops tour and they are thrilled about this year's lineup.
"We're very excited about the tour this year, and already the response from the fans has been excellent. The success of VELVET REVOLVER and MÖTLEY CRÜE is indicative of the fact that this kind of music has re-arrived at an arena level. It proves the perseverance of this style, that it's alive and well," says Hyman. "It's a time of shrinking record sales, but you can't download a personal appearance. The live experience reinforces the authenticity of what this music is all about. And the ticket prices are purchaser-friendly in a nod to the hard-working fans. Multiple generations of fans will be at the shows. A lot of parents will be bringing their kids."
"We are very fortunate to have CINDERELLA choose to headline Rock Never Stops 2005. They are a great band, and so are RATT, QUIET RIOT and FIREHOUSE. This package is exactly what Rock Never Stops is all about," says Frey. "We did a lot of research in putting this together. The secret to a successful package is chemistry, and the secret to that chemistry is sometimes elusive, but we definitely have it with this year's tour. We've got a great team of people that believes in the music combined with a fantastic set of talented artists."
CINDERELLA is one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed hard-rock bands of the past 20 years. The quartet roared out of Philadelphia with an electrifying, gritty, blues-based style that produced several smash hit albums including the triple-platinum "Night Songs" and "Long Cold Winter" and platinum-plus "Heartbreak Station" and "Still Climbing". Classics from these albums include "Shake Me", "Nobody's Fool", "Somebody Save Me", "Gypsy Road", "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)", "The Last Mile", "Coming Home", "Shelter Me" and "Heartbreak Station". The new retrospective "Rocked, Wired & Bluesed: The Greatest Hits" is available on both CD and DVD.
"We're excited about the Rock Never Stops tour and getting back out on the road. We haven't been on tour since 2002," says CINDERELLA vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Tom Keifer. "We are definitely ready to play. A lot of it has to do with timing. I like a tour to be special, and I think it's more special when you are not on the road all the time year in and year out. That makes it stale for bands and the fans. It's healthy to be away from it for a while and come back refreshed and I think it's a really great bill this year."
RATT helped usher in the "pop-metal/hard-rock" era with its self-titled EP and then the triple-platinum, full-length debut album "Out of the Cellar" and its gigantic hit single "Round and Round", a true '80s classic. The Los Angeles-based band's string of gold and platinum albums include "Invasion of Your Privacy", "Dancing Undercover", "Reach for the Sky" and "Detonator" which spawned many hit singles including "Lay it Down", "You're in Love", "Dance", "Way Cool Jr." and "Lovin' You's a Dirty Job". "We know all about the great history of the Rock Never Stops tours and we're happy to be a part of it again this year. Summer tours are always a lot of fun. With the amount of talent on this tour, it really keeps you on your toes to do your best and give your all on stage for the fans," says RATT drummer Bobby Blotzer.
QUIET RIOT has the distinction of being the first heavy metal band to hit # 1 on the album charts, with its U.S. debut no less. 1983's "Metal Health" became a cultural phenomenon. Not only did it top the charts and turn the Los Angeles-based band into superstars, it sold more than 6 million copies and influenced subsequent generations of hard-rock and heavy metal bands. The SLADE cover "Cum on Feel the Noize" zoomed into the Top Five on the pop singles chart and the title track "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" hit the Top 40. The subsequent hit albums "Condition Critical", "QR III", "Quiet Riot", "Terrified" and "Down to the Bone" featured many fan favorites, including "Mama Weer All Crazee Now".
FIREHOUSE rounds out the package with a unique a style embracing blistering rockers among many heartfelt ballads. The band's self-titled double-platinum debut album yielded the memorable hits "Don't Treat Me Bad", the Top Five gold single "Love of a Lifetime" and "All She Wrote".
