Staci, It was a long day and 77 was a scorcher, here, End of Summer Englishtown Sep 125k, I thionk 5 over the summer. 18yr old JFK was so hot they were hosing us down with water cannons, even passing out confiscated Beer and drinks as people were flopin out from heat exhaustion.  U were lucky to catch the original Skynyrd, many didn't get the chance.  Frampton was (good) I think I saw Frampton and Skynyrd 2x-maybe 3 times in 76/77 time frame.

I was 16 when I attended this show. It was a hot day and the place was packed! Skynyrd did a 20 minute version of Freebird which was amazing! That should have been the end of the show, but Frampton was up next, I remember a lot of people left after Freebird before Frampton even came out! I remember Ronnie came out barefoot and with his white hat, loved him! I remember when Frampton came out I was disappointed because he was wearing skin tight gold satin pants and he had a bit of a potbelly! Not what I was expecting. I don’t remember the other bands all that well, most likely because I really went to see Skynyrd.

I was 17 and went with the most popular guy from school who was 20 and a drummer.. The cost, and ALL concerts then were general admission, was $8.50!! I think there were like 120,000 people there.. Unbelievable concert and as much as I loved Frampton, Skynyrd stole the show! I've seen many bands in my time and I still say Skynyrd was the best hands down. They were so tight live.. And Ronnie singing on that hot black stage barefoot.. Rip singer man..
