According to multiple newspaper reports at the time, the crowd at the Pennsylvania Jam was estimated to be between 40-50k folks.
The following year and about a month after I graduated from High School after moving to Georgia, Uncle Ted headlined the Georgia Jam at the Road Atlanta race track on July 4th, 1980. I was at that show too. With him were Molly Hatchet, Def Leppard, Pat Travers and the Scorpions.
When it was time for Nugent to take the stage, he was lowered down on a rope ladder from a helicopter that had been circling the crowd overhead for awhile. It was an incredible sight to witness!
