Sam And Dave appeared at the MTV Awards - Sam wanted to do it, Dave didn't, Dave 's people told Sam that if he would let Dave close New York, he would do it, even though it was Sam's turn to close. They did it, and then Sam pulled the plug on the tour axing the last 2 shows. Sam played a free show on the 29th in Irving Plaza.
