Among the West Coast representing the sun-soaked Southern Californian Heavy Psych scene, in August San Diego's holy glowing SACRI MONTI are about to leave the Pacific Ocean behind to crank up their bitchin', blistering buzz over Berlin again! Fully charged with their new LP 'Waiting Room for the Magic Hour' on Tee Pee Records and supported by Berlin's mind-melting Have Blue, these hot buds are ready to deliver the soundtrack for the psychedelic summer. Fifty years on from the summer of love, since quite a while now a musical uprising is swelling in the streets of San Diego. While the haze of smoke and the chilled out vibes of their forefathers may still remain, the new kids on the block in SD are a very different breed. Steeped in Psychedelia and inspired by Earthless - who played a pivotal role in sparking this particular, local fire there - since 2015 Sacri Monti are quite essential gearing up their scene amongst their friends and band mates in Radio Moscow, HARSH TOKE and JOY. After their outstanding, self-titled in cosmic bliss drippin' debut (2015), which boiled 70s Guitar Hard Rock down to its purest essence while simultaneously skyrocketing a pathway towards the future of molten, guitar-driven, organ-laced Heavy Garage Psych, this time SM return with a vengeance on their sophomore LP 'Waiting Room for the Magic Hour' - to be released on July 5th via Tee Pee Records. Recorded at San Diego's Audio Design (Earthless), the new long-player sees these fellas firing on all cylinders, somersaulting between the spontaneous and the musically calculated. Blues Rock, Prog Rock, Proto-Metal, Fusion and Space Rock masterfully merge with focus, energy and drive to send this band soaring to a next level, riff-filled land - touching on progressive ideas and methods without going full-on Krautrock noodle or losing their sense of groove. SM just proves to be an act, whose promise feels written into each of its jams, and whose balance between song craft and improvisation serves as an immediately distinguishing factor amid an increasingly crowded Southern Californian Heavy Psych scene. So let's get up to the holy mountain, cause - as San Diego CityBeat puts it - "when a band such as Sacri Monti fires up the amps and let the riffs fly, it's a hell of a ride!" Loud. Fast. Wild. Primitive. With their brandnew record 'When the Flowers Get Teeth' - released in March via Berlin's notorious Nasoni Records - in the trunk and after numerous highly energized live shows at our series, them local heavy rollin' fellows in Have Blue are ready to make some trouble again! As the crowd of the local scene already knows, these three hedonists seek for pure satisfaction in the name of Heavy Psych, 60s Garage Punk and Proto-Rock and deliver! After having presented our residents in Have Blue over the last three years together with bands such Banquet, The Black Wizards and BLACK RAINBOWS, this time we'll break the "let's only support B-bands"-ban to bring it on with Sacri Monti!
