One thing my friendship with Makala gave me was introducing me to some great, traditional Country and Bluegrass/Mountain music and because of that Patty Loveless remains one of my favorite all time singers. She can send shivers down my spine with her powerful voice. So this was a Makala and me show. Only downer is Patty could only perform 4 songs, but it was worth it to see one of my idols. Oh, Vince Gill was fine and The Del McCoury Band tore the place up with their brief Bluegrass set. Walked out into the cool October air, me and Makala, and enjoyed the State Fair. A wonderful memory.
