Last show before I went into the Marines 12 days later
DEC 18: GRAND FUNK RAILROAD/ HUMBLE PIE @ Madison Square Garden. Grand Funk had just paid for an advertisement billboard in Times Square which at the time was the largest and most costly ad ever placed there. This was in support of their CLOSER TO HOME record. Humble Pie with Frampton still in tow, stole as much of the audience as they could but the majority was there to see Grand Funk.
