This was billed as a "Farewell Concert" because Kenny and Jim had at that point decided to return to California, and go their separate ways. (of course they did go on to do some more work together, after all). Anyway, the crowd was under the assumption that this would be Loggins & Messina's last concert ever. So, the two played a great show...Vahevahla, House at Pooh Corner, Your Mama Don't Dance, all their hits. Then they came out for their encore, and played another half hour, going through their set-list again. The crowd was throwing flower leis on the stage by the ton. Kenny and Jim were wearing ten or fifteen leis each, and wading through a bunch at their feet. They played about three MORE encores, until the management at the arena said they had to shut down, due to city codes. The band said they would "play through the night" for us, if they could. There was not a dry eye in the house. VERY emotional concert. Mahalo and Aloha to Loggins & Messina.
