My buddy John Burnette (who is direct lineage as part of the Rockin Roll / Rockabilly Royalty Burnette family ) decided last minute we would drive from Woodland Hills the San Fernando Valley to the Colosseum to catch the last show of the Born in the USA tour
- there were tickets available for the first three shows so we figured we just show up there and get some tickets… well when we got there it was sold out, so we started walking around the Colosseum looking for a scalper, problem was there were several hundred others doing the same thing… but by divine intervention, we came across a guy and he had two tickets… I think he wanted $100 for both, well between the both of us I think we had some odd number like around $78-79 bucks , but he sold them to us… I remember, as we walked in to our nosebleed seats with no money left - but we did have a big old bag of homegrown.. and anyway, the boss was playing “ out in the street” and that stadium was rockin .. about 90,000 people… unbelievable experience to walk in and see everybody on their feet. Just having a blast…. We ended up getting a friendly with the people around us, so we would roll, puff and pass…. And they bought us a lot of beer and that experience is called livin out loud at 18yrs old !!
Today I’m living proof of the last song of that tour … “I’m sitting back trying to recapture a little of the glory , yeah” … “alright boys , keep it Rockin now!”…
