That was my memory of the event as well. I recall him leaving the stage and the uncomfortable exchange of glances between the remaining band members. It was an emotional experience.
This is strictly from my memory and I have nothing to validate it. This was the same day that Tony Destra, former drummer for Cinderella, had died in a car accident. It must have been Tom Keifer that mentioned it and then they performed Nobody’s Fool and Tom Keifer started crying while he was singing and I just remember how sad it was. That has always stuck with me. The rest of the Bon Jovi covert was amazing and just like you see in their music videos.
