Influenced by Psychedelia, Blues and steaming Sleeze'n'Roll, the Birth of Joy trio is a fully oiled machine dripping in blood, sweat and true Rock'n'Roll while taking you back to the old times of MC5, The Doors and even Pink Floyd. With a drummer that could be Keith Moon's son, an organist that harasses his instrument to death and a singer/guitarist that seems to be the power version of Jim Morrison, this band is bound to catapult Psychedelic 60s Rock'n'Roll back into the Here and Now, whilst at the same time is peppered with a modern twist of Stoner, Grunge and Punk that creates a lip-smacking sound of their very own!
After 11 years, 1300+ shows, good times and bad times, on Sept 26th the band sadly decided to put the beloved same time comprehensive 100-percent-energy-consuming machine in Birth of Joy to a hold and take an indefinite hiatus - ready to explore different paths, musically and in general. Up until then, these guys will rock your socks off for a last time! So don't miss one of the last chances to see the band live, at least for the nearby future. MURDER YOUR DREAMS. Hailing from the filthy sewers and dark basements of Amsterdam while having evolved around former The Devil's Blood guitarist Oeds Beydals, since 2013 the destroying outlaws in Death Alley deliver heavy punked-out Proto-Metal in spades and serve rip roarin' heavy grooves on stage, that deliver a kick ass heavy take on Old School Motörhead-fired Rock'n'Roll, MC5-fueled Proto-Punk and Sabbath's Metal edginess - worshipping Blue Öyster Cult Hard Rock crowned with a pitch black psychedelic soul cherry. With the fundament of Death Alley's journey, the critically acclaimed 2015 debut 'Black Magick Boogieland' - back then released on Tee Pee Records - the denim and black-clad four-piece since then not only has been growing in the Dutch Psychedelic Rock'n'Roll scene, but geared up to trample upon the sticky-floored venues across the club and festival stages of Europe and beyond. And still a lot to enjoy from these psych-crazed Dutchies!
After a period of relentless touring and some line-up changes, the Death Alley is re-invented, re-born, and ready to take on the world with their refined brand of infectious yet challenging Rock'n'Roll! The follow-up LP 'Superbia' - released in March 2018 through Century Media Records - is evidence of a band stacked with talent: While the long, wormhole-exploring Space Jam workouts never seem to lose potency, the guitar prowess of Oeds Beydals is is still the X factor, that separates this band from scores of wannabes playing this style. The solos and even noodling around are hooky and interesting enough to captivate the listener's attention, from the Batman-theme scribblings in "Daemon" to the hard-charging speed slashes in "Evil Chants" – Death Alley remains one kickass guitar band! Where the cosmic trippin' and wicked speed freak vibe-spreading 'Black Magick Boogieland' is the invitation to a parallel universe of the unknown, this one is about what you get when you accept the invite.
We are psyched to welcome back our friends, after we presented their first gig ever in Berlin back in 2015. This time under a fleet of flags, let's heavily dance in the Death Alley! You know that the sweat will run over your back and your head can only move with it!

AWAKEN. Shortly called after a song of British 70s Hard Rock legends Atomic Rooster, since 2015 the Berlin-based fellows in VUG - on drums with Nick DiSalvo from American Progressive Doomsters Elder - clearly follow the tradition of organic, rough and dark 70s Heavy Blues Rock and Proto-Metal while having developed a heavy yet melodic Rock sound that would feel just at home in the Scandinavian Rock capital of Gothenburg. With their self-titled debut LP - released in April via Noisolution (i.a. Rotor, COOGANS BLUFF) - the band unleashed a dark stone, revealing a breathtaking, multi-layered color range and all kinds of swirling structures at the inside. After several outstanding live sets in the captial, i.a. having supported SACRI MONTI, Salem's Pot and Black Salvation as well as having toured with Hällas last year, let’s come out and gather around again. Cause it's time to enter the garden of sins with VUG!
