Attendees rushed at least one entrance to the grounds early in the day of November 5, bypassing security, knocking down security controls and trampling.
That evening, at least 8 people died and at least 11 went into cardiac arrest, according to Harris County and Houston city officials with over 300 people being treated for injuries at the festival following panic during a human crush at around 9:15 p.m. The figure of 300 people requiring treatment relates to those injured following the mass injury event according to the police press conference given shortly before 5 a.m. the morning following the event. The show’s paramedics were seen performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on unconscious attendees. As a result, the second night on November 6 was canceled.
