Hi Ho started as a solo acoustic project of Chicago singer-songwriter Gillian McGhee. When her melodic punk band Turnspit started to gain some traction, she let Hi Ho take a back seat until Turnspit disbanded in 2019. Over the pandemic, Gillian intentionally reimagined what her next musical endeavor would be and decided to bring Hi Ho into its next era.
