There are at least two U.S. bands called Gears or The Gears. Gears is a multicultural band created in Marblehead, Massachusetts during the year 2006 with a penchant for "indie," "folk" and "pop" sounds. They have released an EP and a full-length album. Band members include Brown Bear, Fox in the Snow, White Shadow and Brian Leahy.
