KATSEYE is a global girl group that was created on the YouTube reality show "The Debut: Dream Academy." On the show, twenty contestants from twelve countries competed to become a final member of the sextet. Winners included Sophia Laforteza of the Philipines (1st place); Yoochae Jeong of South Korea (4th place); Manon Bannerman of Switzerland (6th place); and Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, and Megan Skiendiel of the United States (2nd, 3rd, and 5th place respectively). On August 16, 2024, KATSEYE released its debut EP "SIS (Soft Is Strong)". It charted in half a dozen countries globally and included the hit singles "Touch" and "Debut". Five days later, a docuseries about the band's creation premiered on Netflix.
