Benches – They sound a lot like the new Strokes, for good and bad – great driving beat, but songs get a bit repetitive and his voice can be grating. Also not very good on stage. They have potential – best songs were really rocking. But they need work – 3/5 Royel Otis – Don’t know how I missed these guys. Amazing pop band – great performers, great sound, just a terrific pop show. Probably the best time I have had at a show where I didn’t know the band in years. 4.5/5 The Struts – they absolutely killed it. Just a perfect performance. Luke was mesmerizing as always – it was SUPER hot at this point and he went so hard. Ava’s first time seeing them and she loved it. Only regret was that it was too hot to jump even more! Best show of the festival – 5/5 Christone “Kingfish” Ingram – very solid blues player, but quickly got repetitive and kind of boring – 2/5 At this point the rain started to fall – I sought shelter while Ava decided to embrace it Dinosaur Jr. – bad performers but super fast and fun rock music. It was pouring rain so there was a huge messy mosh pit. Ava even started a trend of slip and sliding at the show. I arrived late but got to see her crowd surf. Great to see everyone having so much fun in the rain – 3/5 Billy Idol – He was great! Played the hits and did it with panache. His sneer has sort of gone from “young punk” to “you kids get off my lawn” but overall it was a great throwback show with fun singalong - 4.5/5
