Disraeli Gears Tour Apr 19, 1968 (56 years ago) The Electric Factory Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Cream's first appearance in Philly after the original dates had been rescheduled from earlier April. I attended the opening show in Friday night April 19, and after the opening act, Woody's Truckstop, Cream on stage & Clapton's incendiary guitar virtuosity, using his Gibson SG through a dual Marshall stack, was transformative for me & all guitar players. His solos were transcendent, They performed: Rolling & Tumbling Sunshine of Your Love NSU Sitting on Top of the World Steppin Out Train Time We had to leave after Train Time but Clapton's guitar was on fire that night, performing a virtuosic Steppin Out instrumental for at least 30 minutes. I don't know they played after Train Time if anything. I have photos of this concert. Your archives have the wrong dates for Creams Philly appearances, please correct them to April 19-21, 1968.
