Came from Arctic Canada (Whitehorse, Yukon Territory) to Seattle to see Claire Cottrill on the Sling Tour. My granddaughter saw her in Portland two days later. She gets a kick out of the fact that her gramps listens to many of the same artists she does. I was one of the only people at the concert with white hair. Claire had a very humble, genuine connection with her audience. As an old disc jockey from a radio station in Colorado in the 70s and a musician myself who played folk music in Chicago coffee houses in the same timeframe, I truly appreciated her writing. Her performance was as mesmerizing as her songwriting is haunting. Claire would make a great teacher. But the music world would miss her.
