The Newberry Jam project originated in the Fall of 2004 when guitarist Ian Newberry, a student enrolled in Georgia State’s University’s esteemed Jazz Studies program and percussionist Radley Fricker held jam sessions at Ian’s house in Home Park. Many gigs later, NBJ participated in the first hiphop superevent now known to Atlanta as The Breaks and have been a featured act at each successive Breaks event since.
