In an age when music is at its most disposable and one-dimensional, Matt Ford comes as a breath of fresh air. While other artists concern themselves with imitating others, Ford is comfortable in his own skin, with a sound all his own. The influences are present and varied - Tim Buckley, Nick Cave and Dead Can Dance, to name but a few, but Ford does not let them define him. The upcoming Liverpool singer-songwriter has just unleashed his debut release, a demo written, performed and produced entirely by himself.
