A native of Philadelphia, bassist Josh Abrams conceals his free jazz efforts in a broader, often times minimalist swing style of upright bass play. In Philadelphia Abrams collaborated with organic rap pioneers The Roots and was highly regarded by Tariq Trotter and company. In 1998 Josh Abrams formed the instrumental ensamble Town and Country, playing piano along side of guitarist Ben Vida, keyboardist Jim Dorling and bassist Liz Payne.
