Starting in 1979, The Anchormen were known for launching the careers of Terry Carter, Biney English, David Sutton, Jeff Chapman, David Hill, Dale Forbes, Brian Routh, Steve Ladd & others in the Southern Gospel industry. While mostly a local, regional group, they gained prominence in the mid 90’s with the lineup of Brian Routh, Dale Forbes, Terry Carter, Jeff Chapman, Joey Gore, Danny Johnson & Tim Bullins. Though they had some success afterward, that was the lineup that put them on the map.
